District 9 – Nimba County: A Better Life
Healthcare in District 9 faces some of the most severe gaps in the country. Maternal and child mortality rates remain alarmingly high, with many mothers delivering without skilled support.
Clinics are chronically under-equipped, underpowered, and under-staffed, forcing families to walk long distances to access even the most basic services. Preventable illnesses like malaria, diarrhea, and respiratory infections continue to claim lives due to weak health systems and limited awareness. Without urgent action, too many women, children, and families will continue to face risks that should be preventable.
Constructing the new Graie Maternal Waiting Home to better support mothers and families in our district and working on care packages for our mothers across the District.
Initiated partnerships with organizations aligned with our Health Impact Initiative to strengthen community health. For example, partnered with Korle-Bu to deliver over 200 boxes of essential medical and non-medical supplies, boosting all 15 clinics and health centers across our district.
Currently finalizing the Mehnla Clinic at 80% completion and upgraded and fully renovated the Zuatown Clinic, strengthening its capacity to deliver better, faster, and more reliable healthcare services for our community. Also, lobbied for support to reopen the Ziah Clinic.
